SUMMARY:

-Ken Bakalar was selected to give the Verilog-AMS and ASVA presentations at the P1800 meeting.
-Presentation to P1800 was discussed.

ACTION ITEMS:

Ken Bakalar will send out his backup slides and the updated presentation to the group.

DETAILS:

SL: Slides have been sent out. Is there any discussion on them?

SC: Who is going to make the presentation?

SL: Is anyone going to be in attendance?

KB: I will be in attendance.

EC: I will likely be there.

SL: Volunteers or nominations for the speakers?

KB: I can give the presentation.

HA: I think that John Havlicek has good experience and would be good to present.

JL: I am comfortable with the slides. I just want to make sure that all viewpoints are represented. I am not sure we get that if John presents.

HA: Jim, you can be on the call and help present your viewpoint.

JH: I am happy to let someone else present. I will be giving another presentation in the meeting already.

SL: I think that Ken should present. He will be in the room and can give folks someone find and get more information after the presentation.

SC: Will Ken present the VAMS material?

KB: I can do that. It might be better to have two speakers to show a stronger group.

SC: I am worried about the time.

KB: Let's move back toward slides. I will give a mock presentation and we can discuss.

-Third bullet on slide 3 needs to be recrafted to better bring across the message of cross instantiation

KB: I don't really like where this slide is going. I think we really need to focus on what we actually want.

SL: We want assistance w/ mixed mode stuff and coordination on roadmaps.

KB: My view is that we want to help convince folks that this is valuable and solicit feedback and participation.

KB: Do we want to effect changes in the PAR?

EC: If we aren't suggesting changes why are we presenting?

JH: I think that there are two points. One is that there is a space in the PAR for AMS. Do we want anything in there so that we can work on it. The other item is to solicit feedback.

JL: What is a PAR?

KB: It is part of the IEEE process. Without a PAR the committee can't meet.

JL: So we want to make sure that the PAR covers this type of conversation?

KB: The draft PAR has a line item in it regarding AMS. Do we want to promote keeping it.

KB: I think that we want to inform these guys that their customers are having a problem or soon going to have a problem and we would like their feedback and assistance to help us solve it.

SL: I agree, but I also think we need an item in the PAR to work on AMS items if the schedule lines up in a way that we need to make changes.

KB: I will send out my backup slides.

SL: Why don't you delete the backup slides from this presentation then.

KB: Okay, I will send out my backup slides and the updated presentation to the list.
