Call to order on November 8, 2010 at 8:10am PDT (17:10 CEST)
Joachim welcomes the participants and starts presenting the
meeting slides.
Volunteer for minutes
Alain volunteers to take notes.
Approval for agenda
Agenda unanimously approved.
Minutes from last meeting
Minutes of October 11, 2010 meeting unanimously approved.
Results of review and vote on the requirements' document
WG vote on requirement document ended on Oct. 17. Requirement document approved with some comments:
- David Bishop: Vector/Matrix Operations (VMO) project is reviewing a strawman proposal. TDM may reuse some tpyes and ot functions defined there. VMO work is considered as a resource for implementing TD packages.
- Subramanian Sivaramakrishnan: Editorial change.
- Arpad Muranyi:Requirement R2 to be rephrased. List of formats in the rationale of requirement R14 to be removed.
Alain to publish an updated version 1.0 of the document to the private area.
Results of review and vote on the requirements' document
Discussion on combinations of interpolation and extrapolation methods
Joachim prepared a
document presenting possible combinations of one-dimensional interpolation and extrapolation methods.
Ernst stressed that it is required to defined the form of polynomials (max order 3?) for internal data points and at left and right sides of the data point range.
Cubic spline lookup function requires the solution of a triangular system of equations.
Not all possible combinations are useful. It is proposed to consider the Verilog-AMS approach for extrapolation, for example:
- For nearest-knot interpolation, use constant extrapolation only.
- For linear interpolation, use constant or linear extrapolation only.
- For quadratic interpolation, use constant or linear extrapolation only.
Joachim to summarize results.
Next steps and next meeting
Next steps: see slides.
The next telco is planned on December 6, 2010 at 8am PDT or 17:00 CEST.
AOB
None.
Adjourn
Joachim adjourns the meeting at 18:35 CEST.
Action items
Alain:
- Update requirement document from the meeting discussion.
Joachim:
- Summarize results on practical combinations of interpolation and extrapolation methods.
