Hi all,
Here's my list:
* Using records on inout pins in some fashion (or is that doable in 2008 and I haven't found out how yet?)
* Easy efficient external language interface (to Python - ideally I'd like to write my whole testbench in Python).
* I'd like "proper" objects (which synthesise) - but might that be asking too much tools-wise?
* Easy low keyboard-typing-overhead pipelining (as has been discussed recently) - I quite like the idea of "inheriting" types to allow a single "pipeline" entity to pipeline any type you care to wire up to it.
* I also like the idea of Boost-like (or jQuery-like: http://www.tekphile.com/2010/12/where-is-vhdls-jquery/ ) library. (One advantage of working towards this is that it requires no extra tools support, which I fear may hold back the adoption of the items above...) VHDL-Boost anyone?
Cheers,
Martin
