---+++ Approved Minutes of Aug-31-2011 SV-CC Meeting. ---++ ATTENDEES
1111111111111111111111111111111111 1111111111111111000000000000000000 0000000000000000111100000000000000 8887665544332211210099988766554221 3102202121311010012121010220212102 1730285173066295807395184139628730 xx-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx*xx Charles Dawson (Cadence) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx*xx Chuck Berking (Cadence) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-xx-xx-xxxx*xx Francoise Martinolle (Cadence) ---xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxx-x-xxxxx*xx Abigail Moorhouse (Mentor) x--x-xxxxxx---x-x-x--x-xxxxxxxx*xx Michael Rohleder (Freescale) xxxxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx*xx Bassam Tabbara (Synopsys) xxxxxxxx-xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx-xxx-x*-x Ghassan Khoory (Synopsys) xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxx*x- Jim Vellenga (Cadence) xxxxxxxx-xxx-xxxx-x-xx-xxxxxxxx*-- Amit Kohli (Cadence) xxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxx----- George Scott (Mentor) -xxxxxxx--------x----------------- Vitaly Yankelevich (Cadence) xxxx-xx------xx------------------- Arnab Saha (Mentor) xxxxxxx--------------------------- Arturo Saz (Synopsys) xx--------x-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-x--*xx Steve Dovich (Cadence) ---x------------------------------ Rohit Jain (Mentor) -------------------------x--x-x*xx Ying-Tsai Chang (Springsoft) ------------------x------------*-- Doug Warmke (Mentor) ----------------x----------------- Jay Lawrence (Cadence) ------x--------------------------- Rob Slater (Freescale)
---++ 1. Reviewed Patent information - Chas reviewed the patent information which can be found at http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt ---++ 2. Approval of agenda George/MIchael. ACCEPTED ---++ 3. Review [[SVCCMeetingMinutes110817][minutes]] from last meeting (Aug-17-2011) Steve/Jim. ACCEPTED ---++ 4. Liaisons * Francoise indicated that the other committees have proposals for interface classes inheritance. * It has an impact on VPI but no changes in the proposal. * Soft constraints * Will have a minor impact on VPI. * DC is working on a proposal for user defined net types and creating interconnects * Both have some impact on VPI. * Chas asked Francoise to get Mantis Items filed for the VPI portions of these proposals. * No other meetings to report. ---++ 5. Consent Agenda ---++ 6. Expedited Agenda Items * Item 3737 * Associative arrays issue. Need to have an empty array for any dimension that is an associative array. * Chas will add it to Items with Proposals section for next time. * Item 3069 * This Item's proposal would have an impact on VPI. * Bassam suggested that we ask the other committee to add the VPI changes to the proposal. * Jim thought that the changes would be pretty straight forward. * Bassam thought we should avoid trying to define the semantics within the VPI, and try to focus on the syntax. * Francoise thought that what VPI would be returning is the results of the semantic analysis done by the compiler. * Jim moves to ask SV-AC to add VPI changes to the proposal. Francoise seconds. * Bassam thinks that getting the other committee to do it will add some needed clarity. * ACCEPTED (unanimous) Chas to write a note the the SV-AC. ---++ 7. New business * Item 3087 * Arnab reported that Vitaly answered some of the questions in emails on the reflector. * Still 3 items left to discuss: * STL vectors for open arrays * Proxy layer open arrays would arrays of STL vectors * Pros: More natural for C++ ...etc. Language neutral * Cons: Performance (data marshalling needed) * Alternative would be an opaque handle where you can query for size, dimensions, ...etc * Other concern is incompatibility between two layers DPI-OO. * Use of pragmas vs attributes vs regular syntax to specify the various mapping to foreign languages * renaming unint32_t to bit_vecval_t to match logic_vecval_t * Vitaly commented that we should get others opinions on that * Jim thought this was least controvercial so we should discuss it first * Alias sv_logic_vecval_t to logic_vecval_t and vice versa * SV, non-SV, or both are the options on the table * Discussed name space issues * Francoise pointed out that they are all aliases of unit32 anyway * Arnab and Arturo prefered the SV version * No objections to that * Jim will pass on the discussion as we will go with the SV version * Arturo also brought up having SV read the intermediate C++ header files * Then the user can import them instead of having to replicate the equivalent method * Proposal lacks symetry right now * No other new business
Motion to Adjourn. Chuck/Michael. Meeting ended at 1:40pm EST.
---++ 8. Review SV-CC items with proposals: * Item 3022 * Proposal is in 3022.pdf. Need to remove the other PDF file. * George was able to get it to compile on Windows using Visual C++ compiler. * Jim/Chuck. PASSED (Arnab abstained) ---++ 9. Review SV-CC items with proposals (Straw poll only): ---++ 10. Review old business: ---++ 11. Action items
%ACTIONSEARCH{ state="(?!closed).*" topic="SVCCActionList" }% [[SVCCActionList][SV-CC Action Items List]] ---++ 12. Items for consideration at the next meeting (they already have proposals): ---++ 13. Next meeting The next SV-CC meeting will be on Sep-14-2011. The next P1800 meeting will be on Oct-27-2011. -- Main.ChasDawson - 2011-08-31
