      * Clarify/think about how to handle exporting subprograms from generic packages (instances of generic packages).
      * Requirement to define the VHDL body of foreign functions and/or to provide the foreign body of functions declared as such.
      * Discussion about the motivation for using an attribute, instead of a keyword before 'function'.
