In regards to the "Complex RTL Use Case" That was discussed in the last WG 
teleconference:

A sensible question was raised (Ernst) as to what can be achieved with composite 
types in VHDL-2008 as of today.

I have added an appendix section onto the web topic with an example of what 
could be done with this example.

I think it makes an interesting contrast as to why directional composite types 
on interfaces are a necessary requirement.
