Hi, TA DA. Accellera has passed its VHDL 4.0 standard on to VASG for standardization. The official press release is here: http://www2.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_b1?release_id=364405 We are on the road to preparing for balloting. The ballot pool has already been formed (last summer) and is patiently waiting for VASG to pass on the standard. Here are the steps that I know of that we need to do before we are ready to submit the draft for balloting: 1: Vote on and incorporate approved ISAC corrections. Through out the Accellera process, ISAC has been working with the Accellera VHDL TSC to screen submitted issues to the current standard and fix them. There are a few additional corrections that ISAC would like to get in the draft before we send it to IEEE-SA for balloting. When ISAC has these items ready for consideration they will pass them to VASG for approval before they are added to the draft. 2: Revise the draft per IEEE-SA requests. During the balloting of the VHPI amendment, IEEE identified some structural issues with the draft they would like corrected so that the draft will be compliant with their current documentation standards. 3: After the draft is finalized, the draft will be presented to VASG for approval to be sent for balloting. Did I miss anything? I guess that would make this the formal hand-off of VHDL 4.0 the the VASG for IEEE ballot. Accellera did approve the budget to provide editorial support for the ballot process. It is not a big budget, so be gentle :-) Cheers, Lance Thompson GES Sales, Americas Central IBM Global Engineering Solutions e-mail: lancet@us.ibm.com office: 507.253.0145 mobile: 507.261.3607 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.Received on Fri Feb 22 21:47:20 2008
