The stuff I posted earlier only pertains to digital modeling
of bidirectional components. The proposal is actually a subset
of the functionality in Verilog-AMS used to do digital to analog
conversion for auto-inserted convertors. Is anyone interested
in adding the full functionality to VHDL?
The extra extension would be to allow access to values in the
drivers' waveforms beyond the current time, which allows you
to create analog (piecwise-linear) signals that have crossover
points matching digital events (otherwise analog signals tend
to lag digital).
