To all concerned parties,
The VHDL 200X Signal Spy / Cross Module reference package
standardization effort is being coordinated by the VHDL-200X
fast track group. This work is intended to be completed and
ready to be standardized in this calendar year.
As a result, we have set a deadline of August 29, 2003 for
completing donation. Included in this deadline is a signed
donation letter (see attached sample letter).
In addition, if your donation overlaps any area in which you have
a patent whose infringement could not be avoided by incorporation
of the donated material into an IEEE standard, please review the
IEEE Standards Association's Patent Committee (PatCom) Guide
(http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/guide.html). Furthermore,
the DASC requires that any patents relevant to a proposed standard
be freely licensed as per the draft Patent Letter of Assurance
(http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/july_2001.zip).
If there are no patents related to the donated material, then
only a donation letter is required. Otherwise, both a donation
letter and a patent Letter of Assurance is required. All letters
should be addressed to Stephen Bailey, the VASG chair.
Best regards,
Jim Lewis
co-team leader of VHDL-200x Fast Track Effort
