Hello, I'll search the twiki for extensions to the record types and add a description for 'serialize and 'deserialize there, too. Questions: - Should I add a twiki page for serialization that summarizes and links these attributes on enums and records? - Should arrays be serializable, too? -> One key question could be: How to delimit elements? Currently, I'm using records to pass debug signals through my design. This could be replaced with the new bundles, but there comes the question: Should/Can bundles be serialized? FWIW, that sums up my philosophy also... of course tempered by the fact that the bigger the language changes, the longer it takes before they get implemented :) Regarding the 'length attribute, I don't see a problem with reusing that to count the number of items in an enum. And ideally the 'serialize attribute would be extended to other types as well (including records :) to allow anything to be turned to and from a vector of bits...
