[vhdl-200x] RE: 1076 Officer Elections: call for nominations

From: Shields, John <John_Shields@mentor.com>
Date: Tue Sep 13 2011 - 22:19:14 PDT

Hi All,

This is a slightly belated note to say that the period for nominations
has officially ended. I now call for votes for election of officers.

There was one nomination for Chair, Jim Lewis. I have confirmed that
Jim is eligible and willing to serve. As there have been no nominations
for Vice-Chair or Secretary, the elected chair may make temporary
appointments. An election for Vice-Chair and Secretary will follow.

Would the WG membership please vote for Chair?

There is an opportunity for a write-in candidate, provided they are
eligible. Voting is by 'approval', whereby each balloter may cast an
approval vote for each of any number of nominees for an office. The
nominee with the greatest number of approval votes wins the election.

Please vote by return email to me (NOT by reply-all to the list!) by 5pm
US-PDT, Wednesday, September 28th, 2011. Please vote by inserting an X
or similar mark next to each candidate for whom you approve.

Chair

______ Jim Lewis

______ Write-In:

Subject: RE: 1076 Officer Elections: call for nominations

Hi All,

At our meeting last week( 8/25), I noted that we were nearing the date
set for close of nominations. To date, we only have a single nomination
for the position of Chair. I encouraged people to act and either
volunteer themselves or nominate someone (after checking with that
person that they would be willing to accept a role). After some
discussion, I was asked to extend the nomination period until the next
scheduled meeting.

Please accept this as a reminder of the call for nominations for
officers of the 1076 working group. I am extending the period for those
nominations. Please forward nominations to me by reply email no later
than 5pm US-PDT, Friday, September 9th, 2011.

Regards,

John Shields

Subject: 1076 Officer Elections: call for nominations

Hi All,

I have been appointed to act as the elections processor for election of
the 1076 Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary. This is a call for
nominations for those positions. Please forward nominations to me by
reply email no later than 5pm US-PDT, Tuesday, August 30, 2011.

Our procedures have been recently changed to be as inclusive as possible
on the qualifications for officers. They state the following
qualifications:

* The Chair shall be a member of any grade of the IEEE, a member of the
IEEE-SA, and a member of the DASC.

The vice-chair and secretary may therefore be any member of the working
group. You are all encouraged to consider participating as an officer.

As I receive nominations, I will confirm with the nominee that they are
eligible and willing to stand. Nominations may come from any participant
and I encourage all of you to consider this. Self-nominations will also
be accepted. As a last bit of information, confirmed nominees may submit
a position statement, if they wish, to be included with the announcement
of the nominees at the start of the election voting period. However, we
do not require position statements for this election.
