On the topic of updating the standard packages:

1) "no_warning" is a constant in numeric_std, and a few other packages.
  It would be nice to make this a package generic, so you can choose to
turn off these warnings if you want.

2) There are no textio routines for the "complex" types. I put these
in the "complex_matrix" package I am writing, but they belong in
"math_complex".

3) We also had a discussion about a Z transform function.
