All,
This is a call for a vote on the motion put forth by Jim Lewis (and seconded by Michael McNamara) to amend the motion made by Peter Ashenden (and seconded by Dennis Brophy) for the WG to approve a PAR for submission and approval by DASC-SC and NESCOM.
The question being put to a vote of the WG:
Shall Peter's motion (see below) be amended as moved by Jim Lewis such that the motion to be considered reads as follows:
That the VASG approve the attached revision PAR for IEEE Std 1076 with
the following changes:
Item 11: Change to "Individual".
Item 13: Change "1164 and 1076.2" to "1164, 1076.2 and 1076.3".
Item 13: Change "releated" to "related".
Item 16: Change "P364" to "P1364 (Verilog)".
___ Approve (comments optional)
___ Disapprove (comments required)
___ Abstain
DASC P&Ps require a minimum voting period of at least 14 days. The DASC chair has informed me that if I receive a 100% response prior to the end of the 14 day period, I can close the vote at that time. The 100% response is determined by the voting membership of the WG and includes abstentions. If we are to make the 6 July cutoff date for NESCOM, then I need everyone's timely response. In the absence of 100% response, the suspense date for this vote is 13 July 04, 7pm US eastern time.
Peter Ashenden's originally stated motion:
That the VASG approve the attached revision PAR for IEEE Std 1076 with
the following changes:
Item 11: Change to "Entity".
Item 13: Change "1164 and 1076.2" to "1164, 1076.2 and 1076.3".

1076_wg_voting_roster_29Jun04.htm: The current voting membership of the WG. Note that members that are in a red font have lost voting membership for failing to meet the participation requirements of submitting a vote in 2 of the last 3 call for votes of the WG. Note that some people have not participated in 2 out the last 3 call for votes of the WG. Allowances are made for recently joined members (for example, John Aynsley and Victor Berman) or for other members who have been active in WG or subgroup meetings and on the email reflector (for example, Francoise Martinolle -- who has led the VHPI work, Dennis Brophy -- who has attended recent WG meetings and been active on the email reflector, Ajayharsh Varikat -- who is active in the IP encryption work and attended the DAC meeting, etc.). The chair is human. If you find your name in red font and believe you have met the participation requirements, please send me an email so we can resolve it.
Also, please let this be notice that the 2 out-of 3 participation rule will be monitored and enforced. The easiest way to keep your voting membership is to exercise your vote (abstentions count for participation purposes)!
