I trust Stu to deal with editorial issues that go way beyond missing semicolons. He's a professional instructor, successful author and the officially contracted P1800 editor. For example, for each of the bullets requests 9 to 16 in http://www.eda-stds.org/sv/sv-champions/hm/0213.html he already has the P1800 authority to honor such requests, if he deems them appropriate. That's part of the job he was contracted to do, and we should get out of the way and let him do it. -- Brad -----Original Message----- From: Bresticker, Shalom [mailto:shalom.bresticker@intel.com] Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 12:14 PM To: Rich, Dave; Brad Pierce; sv-champions@eda.org Subject: RE: [sv-champions] 5-day email vote 1723 In the past, such Mantis items occurred mainly because there was no editor yet, and it was necessary to have place holders until such time as an editor would be assigned. > We have whole mantis items to add > or remove semi-colons, so there's nothing new there. I do agree that adding an additional line to an example can be beyond an editorial change, but I think that in some cases, where there is no technical controversy, the champions should be allowed to do minor changes, for the very reason of not getting bogged down in the entire approval process for minor changes.
