Kathy will followup if this is necessary + Proposal for face to face meeting at DAC Many committee members are not traveling to DAC + Binding NSS has few questions on transparency across the languages NSS to post this to the reflector. John reviewed the transparency requirements: - Author of a design unit has to be oblivious to the design language that instantiates the design unit. - The author of the instantiating unit should not care about which language the design unit is written in. - Define the set of compatibility requirements - Transparency defines in terms of namespace - Define rules for use of escaped identifiers in special cases. John reviewed the requirements for compatibility - Requirements for Strong and weak typing rules across languages. - Avoid conflict with semantics defined in other languages + Straw Poll (Do we agree with the transparency requirements?) Unanimous approval for the transparency requirements. + Straw Poll (Do we agree with compatibility requirements) Committee decided to postpone this to next meeting as a few more questions were remaining. + Adjournment motion Kathy moves that we adjourn, John seconds ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - + Additional information: 1.
