Hi Folks:

The P1800 Working Group met on 2007-10-04 and made a decision about
time extensions for the technical committees in the P1800 2008 effort.

The time extensions for various committees are different based on a
combination of what amount of extra time was asked for and
dependencies between committees.

For all committees, there is a deadline of 2007-11-12 to create a list
of the Mantis items that will be worked on during the extension
period. All items on the list must be entered into Mantis by that
date.

After 2007-11-12, the only items not on the list that may be worked
on are editorial issues and issues that arise from Champions' feedback.

SV-AC will have until 2008-02-28 to work on the items on the list.
2008-02-28 is a hard freeze in SV-AC, and there will be no further
time to make revisions due to feedback from the Champions. SV-AC will
also have to coordinate with the other committees prior to this date
in case their input is needed.

The Working Group also asked for the technical committees to prepare
plans for the work to be done in the extension period so that the
Working Group can monitor on a regular basis the progress being made
towards the stated goals.

I would like SV-AC to have a draft of the list of Mantis items and
plans for the work completed by our meeting on 2007-10-30. This will
allow almost two weeks for revision of the list and the plan.

The owner of each Mantis item should take responsibility for creating
a draft plan for that item. The draft plan should contain incremental
time effort estimates for successive achievement of the following
milestones:

1. Draft proposal complete and ready for review.
2. Initial review complete.
   a. Non-technical review of conformity to rules on coloring, LRM
      style, English, etc.
   b. Technical review.
3. Revised draft complete and ready for ballot.
4. Successful completion of balloting cycle. Try to estimate how many
1-week e-mail ballots will be required.
5. Final revision to address Champions' feedback.

You should assume that SV-AC will be working concurrently on 2 major
proposals and several minor proposals.
