Hi Doug:

You and Manisha have both indicated that the severity
task as property expression looks promising.

I think that if we allow a severity task to stand 
in place of a property expression, then there is
no need to have a severity task that is a sequence
match item affect the sequence or property evaluation.

I recommend that we pursue the severity task as
property expression and drop the thought of severity
tasks as match items with side effects on sequence
or property evaluation.
