See the other email by Manisha, I will comment on that one shortly. For
the primary question posed here the "control actions" refers to the same
name actions vpi_control(vpiAssert...so_and_so ...) in the following LRM
pages.

About the confusion (more shortly), may be calling those vpiAssertOn/off
to correspond to tasks and adding a phrase to state that the tasks
$asserton/off/kill are equivalent to the vpi_control would help. This is
the intent but may be not that obvious.
