The fate of FT3, implement array/scalar logic operators,
is in the vote of CP-003 in the std_logic working
group. If you are interested in this issue, please
join the std_logic reflector and vote.

Dear colleagues,
I'd like to call for a second vote on CP-003 for P1164. You can find the
change proposal at
www.eda.org/vhdl-std-logic/proposals/
The hypermail archive of this list is at
www.eda.org/vhdl-std-logic/hm/
and contains the discussion thread - check for CP-003 in the subject lines.
Would you please vote for one of the following options:
(1) Status quo - don't provide array/scalar operators. This is the
default option if we can't reach consensus.
(2) Replicate the scalar value to form a vector operand. This is
CP-003 as it currently stands.
(3) Extend the scalar value with zeros to form a vector operand.
Alternatively, you can abstain. If you do, please send me notice of
abstention so that I can count your participation in the vote.
If you change your mind during the vote period, I will count the last
vote received from you. I will acknowledge votes by reply email.
For a vote to pass, it will require a return of 75% of voting members,
less than 30% abstentions, and 75% those votes that accept or reject to
be accept votes. (These rules mirror the rules for sponsor ballot.)
Please note that only current DASC members are eligible to have their
vote recognized. For this ballot, I will also collect votes from
non-DASC-members and tally them separately for information.
Please forward your vote to me at peter@ashenden.com.au by 5:00pm US-PST
Friday 16 May 2003. Please also indicate whether you are a DASC
member. (If you want to join up, see www.dasc.org for details.)
Thanks for your participation!
Cheers,
Peter Ashenden
