01/04/05:  9am Champions Call to discuss encryption

Week before 1/26/05:  Karen to schedule a meeting if necessary

Action Item:

Stu requests that the approved method for creating a large proposal also include the frame or word source for the proposal in the files attached to the issue.  Karen to update the operating procedures and send mail to all the committees.

Karen to send a note to all chairs to check for multiple edits for the same code.  The svdb should clearly indicate the order in which to make the changes.

Issue Discussion

41, 169:  No issue here.  Recommend approval.  Unanimous.

265:  The editor is ok if there is no framemaker source for this proposal

77:  Stu wanted to ask a question on deleting reg object on each diagram.  Francoise to clarify the edits to be made for Stu.  Unanimous approval.

155:  Stu believes this should be a bug owned by the editor because the editor owns the index.  Karen to reopen 155 and move it to SV-LRM.  Recommendation to the P1800 is to pass correcting issue 155 as “to be addressed by the editor.”  Unanimous.

215:  This errata should be brought up to the 1800 WG as some believe it will create incompatibility or incorrectness with how variable initialization currently works in 1364. They argue some customer designs will not work anymore as in SystemVerilog a variable initialization does not create an event.  There are opposing views who believe this does not create an incompatibility, and instead, define the result of a race condition.  We recommend that the P1800 discuss this issue.  Unanimous.

275, 334:  These proposals may be contradictory as currently stated and modify the same text.  We recommend merging 275 and 334 into one change document for the editor.  Neil comments that there may be other  proposals (197, 271?) that also touches the same text.  Neil will take this back to the SV-EC to create one change document. Unanimous.

50:  Stu would like to have word or frame source file text for the changes.  Karen will ask Doug to upload the source.  The proposal changes the import string.  It used to be “DPI”.  It is now “DPI-C” and “DPI-3.1a”.  Not backward compatible with 3.1a.  It might be better to have it be “DPI” for the deprecated standard.

Send this back to the SV-CC:  Stu, Bassam, Surrendra, Neil, Tom.

Discuss in the P1800: Francoise, Karen.
