champions and sent back to the technical committees.

SystemVerilog Champions,

Attached is the email that I sent to the sv-ec this morning,
which outlines the feedback from the Champions on mantis items
that were approved by the sv-ec.

Each of these was reviewed in the sv-ec bi-weekly conference call
that was held this morning. Some of the changes requested have already
been uploaded and several more are in the process of being updated.
The sv-ec has requested that the Champions review the updated proposals
by the use of email.

I agreed to sent out a list of those mantis items that have been updated
later this week. The editor has stated that from his perspective it is
best for us to get as many mantis items as possible into draft 4 instead
of waiting for the next draft. Several of the Champions were on the
SV-EC
conference call this morning. The SV-AC may also want to make a few
updates as well.

It isn't clear how the Working Group will
react to a set of last minute changes, but I am willing to make the
effort to see if we can get these approved by the Champions via email
and
then approved at the next Working Group meeting on Aug 30.


My proposal:
------------

 - Neil calls for an email vote of those mantis items that the sv-ec and
   the sv-ac have updated by 11:59pm PST, Thursday Aug 23
 - The email vote will be for a duration of 5 days,
   starting Friday morning (Aug 24) and ending Wednesday morning (Aug
29)

An email vote can be for a duration less than 7 days if it is agreed
upon, ahead of time. I am aksing for your input as to whether you are
in agreement with this proposal. If we need to have a full 7 days for
the email vote, the committees will need to get their work done by
tomorrow.

Attached to this email is the feedback from the Champions on mantis
items that
were passed by the sv-ec. One mantis item was approved, after making 3
friendly amendments to it. All of the other items from the sv-ec were
sent
back to the sv-ec. Several of them were reviewed in detail by one or
more of
the Champions. The Champions decided to send the rest of them back to
the
sv-ec because of the large number of issues identified. The sv-ec needs
to go
through the feedback provided by the Champions and review those that had
no specific feedback to ensure that they are ready for the Champions.

The next Champions meeting is 2-weeks from this Wednesday (Sep 5th). If
any of the sv-ec mantis items are to be reviewed in that meeting they
need
to be ready by this Thursday.

1648 - the Champions would like the sv-ec to review this mantis item to
       see if it is applicable to covergroups.
