P1800 TC chairs,

The P1800 is currently working on developing a PAR (Project Authorization
Request) for the next version of the SystemVerilog LRM. This is part of the
IEEE process for allowing work to take place on a new or existing IEEE
standard. The PAR describes what types of changes will be made to the standard.

There have been some changes in the IEEE rules in this regard. We need to
be more precise in our description this time around.

At the last Working Group meeting it was decided to request input from each
of the existing Technical Committee chairs on what set of changes and/or
enhancements they would like to see made in the next version of the LRM.
It has been requested that each of the chairs of the Technical Committees
prepare a short presentation on this topic for the Working Group meeting
that will take place the week of DVCon (the week of February 22nd, 2010).

The Technical Commitees are permitted but not required to hold meetings or
teleconference calls to gather input from TC members on this topic. That is
the extent of the work that the TCs are currently authorized to perform at
this time. I believe that Chas was planning to hold one or two conference
calls for the sv-cc to discuss the PAR. The other chairs may also want to
gather input from the members of their TC to assist them in deciding on
the contents of their presentation.
