Would it be reasonable to ask all candidates, including those that are
apparently running unopposed, to send an email to the group with 1-2
paragraphs:

(1) Why they running and what they expect to do if they are elected to
their respective office?

(2) (optional) why they believe they are qualified for the position?

It would be most useful for the Vice-Chair position, but I would not
mind
seeing the same information from the Chair and Secretary candidates.

Short, sweet and to the point is best. A long response and I start
writing
in other candidates! ;-)
