Dear Colleague,
I would like to initiate the process of Officers' election for our work
group. This includes the election of a Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary.
For this purpose, I decided to appoint Peter Ashenden (DASC Chair) a
Returning Officer to conduct the election of officers and he has kindly
agreed.
Peter will shortly send a note to initiate the nomination process. Here
is the process, based on our agreed upon Procedures & Policies (P&P):
* Peter (Returning Officer) will send a note to initiate the
nomination process
* The response period for nominations shall be 14 calendar days
* Eligible voting members shall nominate to Peter one or more
members for each office (Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary) to be filled
at the election
* A member shall be nominated for no more than one office
* Peter will conduct the election via electronic ballot
* Voting will conclude after 14 calendar days
* Voting shall be by "approval", whereby each balloter may cast
one approval vote for each of any number of nominees for an office
* The nominee with the greatest number of approval votes shall win
the election
* Election of the Chair and Vice-Chair shall be confirmed by the
Sponsor Coordinating Committee
