To Shalom's point my friendly amendment to 2476 that will address 3008
is below. Please consider this as an addition to my vote.

In 16.9.3 update the BNF from:

$past ( expression [, [number_of_ticks ] [, [expression2 ] [,
[clocking_event]]] ] )

TO:

$past ( expression1 [, [number_of_ticks ] [, [expression2 ] [,
[clocking_event]]] ] )

And make the same change (expression to expression1 ) in the BNF in
section 20.13 of the proposal for 2476.

new text.
