Subject: [sv-ac] question on system functions

Hi all,

I have a few questions on system functions($onehot, $countones,
$isunknown, $onehot0):

1. Is it desired that these be able to be used in HDL?

[Korchemny, Dmitry] It is not stated anywhere that they cannot be used
in HDL, I don't see implementation issues with it either.

2. What datatypes should be supported? Should they be restricted
to packed and vector datatypes? (exclude noninteger types (real ...),
strings, event, chandle, class, associative arrays, dynamic objects)

[Korchemny, Dmitry] I could not find a satisfactory answer in the LRM,
though my interpretation that their argument should be of an integral
type. Since they are declared as expressions, they cannot be unpacked
arrays or structures.

Lisa
