I think we addressed his question in one of our emails. The reason for
this syntax was to keep it consistent with default clocking.

global clocking [ clocking_identifier ] clocking_event ; endclocking [ :
clocking_identifier ] 

The editor has asked, why is the 'endclocking' needed?
