Hi Tom,

Thank you for your clarification. I suggest adding a meta-note (in
green) explaining that this example relies on 2149. The Mantis itself
should also contain a dependency on 2159.

Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,

A covergroup can be triggered either by a clocking event (@(posedge
clk)) or by a procedural call to its sample() method. The default
sample() method has no arguments.

However, Mantis 2149, which has been approved by the working group,
allows the user to create a custom sample() method with formal
arguments. So in my example, the coverpoint now covers the formal
argument of the covergroup sample() method, not the signal of the same
name in the checker scope.

I hope this helps,

Tom
