Hi Folks: > 3. In 16.18.1 - "can be formally proved" -> can be formally proven > ... I believe that either "proved" or "proven" is acceptable as past participle of "to prove". According to several usage notes I have seen, "proved" is the older form and was much more prevalent in the past. Today, the two are used with roughly equal frequency, although "proven" is preferred when used as preceding adjected (e.g., "a proven technique").
