AI: Push back on "implicit" is underway. Bassam has suggested "context". Bassam to send some description of why context makes sense to the reflector. . AI: Feedback for DK on 1591 -- everyone expressing opinion prefers the second alternative. . AI: Feedback for TS. Tej says he has received enough feedback. - Brief discussion of process for enhancements to be addressed by SV-BC (Dmitry) . Dmitry will submit list of enhancements that need to be addressed by SV-BC for e-mail discussion. Others can add items to the list. After completing discussion, we will vote and, if approved, send the list to SV-BC. - 1550: $sampled definition and sampled-value functions . Ed split 1550 into two. 1550 is now just $sampled. New item is 1698 to deal with sampled value functions. Ed will put a bugnote on 1698 to record the current thinking on this item. . Leave 1 week for email discussion and then call for email vote. - 1601: implicit type . Bassam to send email on "context". . Email discussion of "context" for 1 week. If "context" is acceptable, then we will call for a vote. If not then we will resume the message to SV-BC (EC?) requesting "implicit". - 1549: Missing formal types . DK: This item needs to include information about type casting and assignment compatibility. . This item will be discussed in the sub-committee and updates will be given in the regular meetings. First sub-committee meeting will be this Thursday. . DK: Two new types, "property" and "sequence". Do they introduce syntactic ambiguity? - AI: JH will try to extract the relevant syntax productions to make a judgment. . DK: Also, we may eventually want to have nested property declarations. The syntax should allow for this. - 1668: Local var initializers . JH: Why do we need "var_data_type"? . EC: var type(expression) can be used. Look at p. 79. "var" is required when using "type(expression)" in a variable declaration. . JH: The technical problem with this proposal is the way attaching (1, v=e) to define the semantics of an initializer can affect the matching of the following sequence expression or the strength of the following property expression. . EC: Consider restricting to constant initialization. . JH: This could help, but it may be too restrictive. - 1641: Severity specification for error msgs (should be discussed together with SV-BC) . To be reassigned from Manisha to Tej. - 1667: Local variable args for sequences and properties. . JH: No progress on this. - 1591: $past syntax not precise . Everyone expressing opinion prefers the second alternative. Dmitry to prepare the specific proposal for review and discussion. - EC: Some items with proposals can be looked at and, hopefully, resolved quickly. Ed to send his suggestions for items to be put on the agenda. - JH: We will also review the prioritized list from the poll as space on the agenda becomes available. - DK: Others who think that proposals are ready to be considered can suggest them as well. - LP: 1704 subroutine execution on empty match could be quickly resolved. Lisa to prepare a proposal. Next meeting: ------------- 2007-01-23 at 17:00 UTC (11:00 CST)Received on Tue Jan 9 16:12:51 2007
