Hello John,

I think that your proposal of handling ended vs. troggered in assertions is
interesting. But if we do allow triggered in sequences, such that it is true
throughout the time step and allows sync between inequivalent events, what
is the validity of $past(s.triggered)? Is it now synced to the clock like
$past(s.ended) and thus synthesizable? For any event e, is it then possible
to use e.triggered within a sequence? Since the assertions are evaluated in
the observed region and e could be emitted in the reactive region, how would
that behave?

It seems to me that allowing .triggered inside sequences may open up a lot
of other issues that we may not have the time to resolve.

ended as an event - I think this is hidden under @(s), i.e., we do not need
@(s.ended) even though its meaning would be equivalent. Disallowing this
would be a limitation, it is potentially quite useful to trigger sampling of
covergroups using @(s) (do not need a cover poperty to instantiate the
sequence.)

Allowing actual arguments in s(...).triggered is OK, for reasons that you
give. The system can do the instantiation under the hood.
