Hi all,
I would like to discuss today the following issue with the procedural checkers brought by Jacob.
Consider the following code:
module m(...);
bit a;
...
always_comb begin
a = 1'b1;
check mycheck(a);
a = 1'b0;
check mycheck(a);
end
endmodule : m
checker check(x);
bit y;
assign y = x & 1'b1; //Redundant but needed to illustrate the problem
assert #0 (y);
endchecker : check
The semantics of procedural checkers with procedural code (except for always_ff) is not clear. The existing semantics does not work anymore. The easiest way is to forbid procedural instantiation of checkers containing procedural code.
Thanks,
Dmitry
