Call to order
Ernst started the meeting at 8:05am PDT. He stated thata quorum is reached.
Approval of agenda
Agenda was aproved without changes. Alain moves, Joachim seconds.
Administrative issues
Approval of August 13, 2014 meeting minutes
The
August 13, 2014 minutes were approved without changes with a motion by Alain seconded by Joachim.
Review of IEEE patent policy
Ernst explained the intention of patent policy. Presentation was skipped.
Elections
The Joachim's term as WG secretary ends December 2014. Ernst will act as returning officer for the next election of the secretary.
Working Group PARThe
Working Group PAR will expire on December 31, 2015. The WG has to ask for an extension early next year. Therefore, a time schedule for the remaining activities is needed by the next WG meeting. Feedback is necessary for
LRM revision (Alain Vachoux),
Integration of Packages Defined by IEEE 1076.1.1 (David Smith),
Table-Driven Modelling (Joachim Haase),
VHPI-AMS (David Smith),
alignment to VHDL 1076-2008,
errata and minor extensions (Ernst Christen), and
Vector/Matrix Operations (Zhichao Deng, David Bishop).
Project discussion
LRM statusThe WG 1076 is identifying new projects. Ernst tried to get more information from Jim Lewis. At the moment, it as too early to coordinate the LRM update with the WG 1076. Ernst gave some examples on how to complete the baseline document with existing text at proper places. Details can be found in the
P1076-2008-conditional.pdf file in the
Working Group Documents Private Area.
TDM update
After the last WG meeting, Ernst provided an example on how to use protected types to hide type declarations. Details were discussed by the TDM subcommittee and it was decided to continue in this way. Joachim will start to adapt the existing TDM test implementaion to this approach.
