The bugzilla report 293 states that it is unclear whether the alternative label possible in an if or case generate statement forms part of the path name.

The proposed clarification is to add a sentence at the end of 8.7 (b) (5) "The alternative label possible in an if or a case generate statement does not form part of the path name"
